HUPARI
Hupari (Hatkanangale T. 16° 35' N; 74° 20' E;
p. 7,039), nine miles south from Hatkanangale railway station; lies
ten miles south-east of Kolhapur. It has two old temples. One is of
Ambabai (17' x 15' x 27' high) and the other of Mahadeo (15' x 13' x
18') high) both built of stone and mortar. Every April at Ambabais
temple a fair is held attended by about 1,000 people.
